MMA announces actions in watersheds

Event integrated management of water resources as debate the best way to preserve water

The participants of the XVII National Meeting of River Basin Committees (XVII Encob) learned this Tuesday (06/10) Two important actions of the Ministry of Environment (MMA) in progress, having dialogue with the theme of the meeting.

The event, which brings together more than 1.5 million participants in the city of Caldas Novas (GO ) to discuss integrated water resources management as the best way to preserve the water runs until Friday (9/10), and is sponsored by the MMA and the National Water Agency (ANA).

PNRH REVIEW < /strong>

The first action concerns the revision of the priorities of the National Water Resources Plan (PNRH) for 2016- 2019. Who said anything about this topic at the event was the Water Resources deputy secretary of the Ministry the Environment (MMA), Marcelo Medeiros.

The PNRH, approved by Resolution 58 of January 30, 2006, the National Water Resources Council (CNRH) is a strategic tool to guide the implementation the National Water Resources Policy and the performance of the National System for Water Resources Management (Singreh).

Brazil was the first country in the Americas to have a National Water Resources Plan which was drawn up in order participatory involving more than 7000 people working in water management in the country. The document provides information on availability and quality of water in the country by the year 2020, in addition to indicating means for the various natural resource uses can be met from satisfactorily.

The revised plan aims to assess progress and challenges of the last years of its implementation (2012-2015), with adjustments and corrections necessary for national planning of water resources management. The first review of the Plan took place in 2011 and set among its programs and their subprograms, 22 priorities for the period 2012-2015.

In this first stage, are being distributed questionnaires to consultation with the members of the spaces collegiate water resources on the importance of these priorities for the next plan cycle (2016-2019). The next steps include a consultation open to the whole society and the validation of the document by the National Water Resources Council (CNRH).

NOTICE

The second action of MMA was disclosed in Encob FNMA Notice 01/2015 - Permanent Preservation Areas Recovery for Water Production, lacy by the National Environment Fund (FNMA), on 22 September. Who spoke on the subject at the event was the director of FNMA, Ana Beatriz Oliveira.

The notice aims to promote the selection of proposals will receive financial resources, non-refundable, to conduct forest restoration activities in areas permanent preservation located in watersheds whose surface water sources contribute directly or indirectly, for the supply of metropolitan areas with high water reservoirs criticality index.

The resources of the announcement, totaling R $ 45 million, resulting from the partnership between the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Justice and the Federal Savings Bank (CEF), through their development agencies . and supporting the management of water resources in the country

They are: National Fund for the Environment / MMA; National Fund for Forest Development / SFB; National Fund on Climate Change / MMA; Advocacy Fund Diffuse / Ministry of Justice; Environmental Package / CEF fund; and National Water Agency (ANA).

The proposals shall be submitted in System Covenants of the Federal Government (Siconv) until 8 November. The edict with all the information, criteria and procedures can be found in the MMA site and FNMA.

According to Ana Beatriz, the idea is not spray resources throughout the country, but working with infrastructure projects. "It's important to remember that part of the funds will enable the technical assistance for the implementation of Rural Environmental Registry (CAR)," he said.
The property registration in CAR is considered a prerequisite for the recovery actions. The minimum value for proposal is expected to be R $ 1.5 million and a maximum of R $ 3 million
